Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). When she was a kid, she went to the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was just six when she realized she wanted to be an actor. She was trained for many years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. At the age of 10, she had appeared and played as the main character in several Stagecoach shows and school productions. Casting began in 1999 to cast Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Agents for casting found Emma by way of her Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after 8 auditions. They were cast as three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first film appearance came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The film was also one of the top-rated films during 2001. The opening days and weekends of sales were record-breaking. The film received praise from reviewers, and so were the performance of three new actors. The well-known British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Then Emma was shortlisted for five prizes for her work in the film and was awarded her the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in an Feature Film.
